Position Summary
The European Telecommunications Office (ETO) Services team is responsible for developing and deploying new customer propositions across the EU region. As a result, we have a dynamic scope and a varied remit, being involved in proposition creation, content and services strategic direction and commercial partnerships.

Reporting into the Director of Content & Services team in Europe, this role has the potential to improve the lives of millions of users of Samsung devices by enabling them to manage payments securely and safely and to replace all the cards in their wallet and indeed replace the wallet itself with a Samsung device. You will be responsible for driving the performance of Samsung Wallet across Europe.

Samsung Wallet launched in Q3 2022, adopting Samsung Pay (payments) to become the all-in-one lifestyle Wallet, adding new functionality and opening new commercial opportunities. The role has commercial and proposition influence of Samsung Wallet across 10 European markets (and growing). You will be responsible for developing and executing an aligned European strategy measured by consumer adoption of Samsung Wallet, user engagement and performance against key competitors.
Role and Responsibilities
Strategy
  • Act as the strategy lead for Samsung Wallet (short and long term strategy).
  • Liaise with Global HQ in Suwon, and local subsidiaries in Europe, to implement an aligned EU Strategy – securing engagement from all internal team members.
  • Ongoing roadmap management and presentation to leadership with regular reporting against strategic goals.
Product Development and GTM
  • Be the centre of Samsung Wallet knowledge for the Samsung Europe business including product roadmap and operational processes, utilising your technical knowledge about what is and is not possible with regards to a digital wallet.
  • Build strong and fruitful relationships with key global team members including Samsung HQ in Suwon and other regions.
  • Maintain the Samsung Wallet service at a regional level ensuring the proposition remains fit for purpose and new propositions are deployed effectively.
  • Utilise excellent team member management skills, building strong relationships and hosting regular forums for all local markets, holding local product owners to account to meet joint targets.
  • Regular engagement with product owners to resolve issues or planned improvements.
  • European market validation for new launch planning and execution of global HQ initiatives.
  • Influencing and gaining support from HQ for new propositions, partnerships and features.
  • Maintaining and improving the app User Experience, working with UI/UX teams.
  • Work closely with partnership managers, to on-board tier 1 brands to Wallet, driving Wallet use cases and customer experience.
Reporting, Management and Operations
  • With the reporting team, track Key Performance Indicators targets, ensuring Europe is on track at all times, putting in place mitigations if forecast does not meet target.
  • Monitor / track detailed forecasts for all metrics including, MAU, Registered Users and churn.
  • In depth and regular competitor analysis
Skills and Qualifications
  • Extensive experience in Payments / Fintech
  • Experience as a product/ service owner (driving app adoption).
  • Knowledge of digital payments, e commerce, mobile wallets, and Card products.
  • Enjoys developing and delivering long term vision and strategy.
  • An ability to convince, inspire, and obtain internal agreement.
  • Embraces working in an environment that is fast paced, fluid and evolving.
  • Excellent relationship management skills, with an ability to establish and maintain long term relationships with internal partners in both technical and commercial fields.
  • Detail orientated with a dynamic approach to workload and projects.
  • Effectively prioritises across multiple projects.
  • Likes ambiguity and the challenge of simplifying problems to meet consumer needs.
  • Consultative, engaging, and good with people.
