Are you a Senior Health and Environment (SHE) Advisor looking to be an integral player with a major brand?

With circa 2,500 buildings in the Royal Mail Group portfolio, this is a fantastic opportunity for a Subject Matter Expert looking to work with a UK wide, large scale operation.
About the role
As the primary support and escalation point for, SHE you will work primarily with the Property Risk & Assurance Team and Property, Facilities Solutions Ltd. (PFSL) and Operational Teams to launch and implement SHE standards and programmes and to reduce SHE risks and impacts nationwide.
With exceptional technical knowledge and strong stakeholder management skills, you’ll engage with employees and stakeholders at all levels to improve safety standards and imbed a strong safety culture. This is a Senior role, and you will provide business partnering and advice on safety matters to the director of PFSL. Utilising relevant data, you’ll identify trends to improve safety behaviours and update policies and processes for PFSL engineers and employees.
About you
To be successful in this role, you’ll possess the following skills, experience, and qualifications:
- Holder of a Level 6 Occupational Health and Safety Practitioner qualification, or a holder of a NEBOSH General Certificate and working towards a Level 6 Occupational Health and Safety Practitioner qualification.
- This is a Senior role, and you will be required to evidence strong stakeholder management skills, able to engage, consult, influence, negotiate, challenge, and recognise alternative views with and the ability to identify customer requirements and translate these into action plans.
- Strong experience in a similar compliance, risk management and/or SHE discipline, ideally gained within a multi-site, unionised facilities management environment, with an engineering slant.
- Industry knowledge or awareness of the Facilities Management (FM) SHE risks, controls and safe systems of work.
- Proven leadership ability with sufficient gravitas to be highly credible at board level, with a focused and collaborative working style.
- Able to identify and manage significant risks and opportunities, make effective decisions based on data analysis.
- IT literate, competent in Microsoft Office products
- Valid UK driving licence
- NEBOSH National Diploma (or equivalent); or working towards this.
- Chartered Member of IOSH or equivalent professional health and safety body; or working towards this.
- Extensive working knowledge of Facilities Management and engineering management processes and procedures.
