Carbase is a family-owned business that's grown in the last 20 years into the largest independent, pre-owned dealership in the Southwest.
We’re now looking for a Senior Purchase Ledger Clerk to join our Bristol Admin team, who will oversee the day-to-day output of the Purchase Ledger function, and ensure an efficient workflow within a high-volume environment (>5,000 invoices per month).
You’ll be the first point of contact for all enquires and questions from within and without the business and will play an integral part in the improvement of systems, processes and procedures across the Purchase Ledger team.
About the role:
- Under the guidance of the Office Manager you’ll oversee the workflow of Purchase Ledger Clerks (x2) and manage their performance
- Ensure the team are kept on task and results focused
- Match and code invoices
- Be responsible for the processing of supplier payment runs
- And reconcile supplier statements
- Ensuring that supplier accounts are maintained accurately and efficiently
- While liaising with other departments to resolve supplier queries
- Building and developing relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders as the first point of contact for the Purchase Ledger
The successful candidate will have:
- A Good standard of English and Maths: (GCSE Level C and above, or Numeracy and Literacy Level 2 on the NQF or equivalent)
- Ability to prioritise workloads and work to deadlines
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Excellent IT skills including MS Excel, Word, Outlook
- Demonstrable knowledge and understanding of the Purchase Ledger function
- Knowledge and awareness of the importance of confidentiality and data protection
DESIRABLE:
- Attainment of NVQ Level 3 qualifications or equivalent (e.g. A Levels, AVCE)
- Experience in collating, analysing and presenting data and information efficiently, accurately and methodically
- Experience in managing purchase ledger clerks
- 2+ years’ experience in a supervisory role within Finance
- Experience within the automotive industry
