Job description
We are excited to be recruiting for a Senior Sustainability Project Manager – Education (Development and Advocacy).
The role will focus on growing the impact and reach of our education work by developing new streams of work and supporting the impactful delivery of current projects. INTRODUCING SOS-UK
SOS-UK is a student-led education charity focusing on sustainability. We know environmental sustainability cannot be achieved in isolation, so our work spans across issues of justice and wellbeing as well.
We believe in lifelong learning and work on sustainability across all forms of education from early years to workplace learning. We act as a support crew - facilitating, encouraging and mentoring people wherever they are on their sustainability journey in sustainability.
We see the power and potential in students and young people to be at the forefront of change. We work alongside them as equal partners in their sustainability leadership journeys.

ABOUT THE ROLE
Our education work has grown significantly in recent years and this new role will be integral to the Directorate’s continued impact and reach. The post-holder will work closely alongside the Director of Education, the two other Senior Project Managers for Education, the Education Campaign Manager, and our team of Project Managers to advance our aims through targeted advocacy activities and the development and management of new funded projects.
The advocacy aspect of the role will focus on specific interventions with key sector bodies, nationally and internationally. For example, this could involve delivering high-level events like an international higher education leaders roundtable or strategic engagement with professional and statutory regulatory bodies. Over time the exact nature of these activities will vary, depending on current priorities and opportunities.
The other aspect of this role is focused on the development and delivery of new areas of work for the Directorate, including the effective day-to-day management and oversight of major funded projects. For example, this could include project managing our Green Schools Revolution three-year programme involving a number of interventions in secondary schools. This will also involve working with the Director of Education and Executive Director to secure grant funding and sponsorship for future initiatives.
