Job description
The Senior Project Manager role is unique within the organisation:
- It is focused entirely on key projects which directly improve the care delivered to our patients.
- A practical hands-on approach is encouraged, with the post holder driving forward a range of key projects projects.
Reporting directly to the Deputy Director of Clinical Care, the role is supported by a Project Manager and Project Support Officer.
- Lead the project management function within the Directorate.
- Autonomously lead on programmes and projects to improve patient care, in line with the Trust’s strategy and annual plan.
- Plan, support, facilitate and monitor progress of projects within own portfolio or across the directorate.
- Design and develop the overarching wider Directorate work plan with associated budget costs.
- Manage allocated budget.
- Co-ordinate project staff and contractors through full project life-cycle activities, directly supporting the development of project deliverables as required.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of a governance framework for Directorates projects and other associated work streams.
- Implement recognised project management processes, procedures and tools within the Directorate as appropriate.
- Use a range of tools and software to develop and maintain Directorate projects and work stream plans.
- Provide specialist Project Management advice and support to other members of the Directorate.
- The post-holder will, with the wider team, identify areas for improvement and will support staff to develop the plans to do this.
