We encourage our people to be proud of where they work, to share their ideas and to own their careers. We promote a safe working environment and push people to shape and progress their careers so that we grow our talent within the company.

What you’ll be doing
As Senior Project Manager, you will be required to manage a portfolio of capital projects that will be delivered which meet the customer’s expectations, within authorised budget, to a high standard of quality and to the required timescales without an adverse impact to the environment.

Taking responsibility for the management of identified Transmission 33-400kV circuits (underground cable and overhead line) projects throughout their full lifecycle from development through to final closeout, you will be required to deliver outputs, incentive metrics and milestones in line with business targets.

Effectively managing project risk and mitigate the impact of issues that may emerge, you will promote a high level of service to internal and external stakeholders, ensuring stakeholders are consulted and informed at all stages on the project lifecycle.

Complying with SP Energy Networks integrated management system and SPT (ScottishPower Transmission) Projects Project Quality plan, you will be responsible for the correct management and administration of contracts (primarily NEC, FIDIC and bespoke SPT Design and Construct forms)

Developing accurate capital expenditure forecasts and output projections on assigned projects, with full accountability for project, contractual and financial governance, you will also contribute to the out-performance of the price control period by identifying, promoting and implementing innovation, efficiencies and value engineering.

What you’ll bring
With significant experience in project managing major projects, you will be educated to degree level in a relevant Engineering discipline or possess equivalent Project Management experience within a comparable environment such as energy, water, gas or telecoms where you have been responsible for project risk management and control, procurement processes and procedures, contract management and health, safety and environmental legislation applicable to projects, particularly CDM.
