We deal with large-scale projects that impact the ways of working of hundreds of people across Sainsbury’s.
As a Senior Project Manager, you’ll manage multiple change initiatives at any one time and will work in an agile way, adapting to challenges and developing leading-edge solutions. Working in a matrix environment, you could be working on a wide range of projects, from transforming processes and systems across the Commercial Division, to landing large-scale change across our stores, or working out how we can reduce the amount of plastic we use across the business. You’ll work alongside a broad spectrum of other functions including but not limited to Technology, Buying & Merchandising, Supply Chain and Retail.
The ideal candidate will bring a problem-solver with experience of leading change initiatives.
As a Senior Project Manager you’ll:
- Spot and prioritise opportunities to improve how we work, building a case for change and getting buy-in from key stakeholders.
- Successfully manage and own projects end-to-end by defining requirements, creating a plan, managing risks and dependencies, embedding change and driving continuous improvement once the change has landed.
- Build strong relationships across all levels of seniority, bringing people together to solve problems, and deliver through cross-functional teams.
- Develop an in-depth understanding of the processes and systems utilised across the business and work with cross-functional stakeholders to transform them to allow us to unlock our strategic ambitions.
- Role model positive, collaborative and agile ways of working with all areas of the business.
Our Commercial Change team would love to see:
- Proven organisational and change project management skills, you thrive on planning and coordinating and can manage risks, dependencies and complex priorities
- Key strength in stakeholder management and adapting communication to the target audience.
- Naturally collaborative with the ability to build great relationships and work effectively across multi-functional teams.
- Experienced embedding changing across technology, people and process.
- You are comfortable with dealing with ambiguity, working in an agile way.
- You love problem solving, simplifying complexity and have an ability to make it happen, at pace.
- You are naturally curious and like to challenge the status quo.
- PRINCE2/Agile/Six Sigma and process optimisation experience preferred.
