Salary: £26,730 to £32,750 per annum based on experience

The role
The Moredun Group is seeking a full-time Research Scientist to join the Vaccines and Diagnostics Department at the Moredun Research Institute. You will provide essential research support to the Mycobacteria group, developing new models of infection to identify novel biomarkers for vaccines, diagnostics and monitoring disease. As a valued member, you will be integral to the team, as well as interacting with others within the institute. This position will provide the opportunity to use and develop your knowledge and skills to improve disease control strategies against Johne’s disease and associated infections.
Experience required
You will have:
- As a minimum a BSc in a Biological Science or equivalent
- Experience of working in a diagnostic or research laboratory
- Experience of bacterial and cell culture techniques, microscopy and molecular biology
- Experience of working to Quality Assurance and Health & Safety legislation, including familiarity with ISO 9001:2015 standards of quality assurance.
- Good IT and communication skills
- Excellent communication and time management skills
- Hold a current UK driving licence
