Are you a proactive, focused individual with the ability to communicate and engage effectively across all levels? Do you have experience in project management and / or good working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Software? If so, we would love to hear from you. We are looking for a Senior Programme & Project Management Officer to join our Team. Interested? More details and how to apply can be found below.
About the Role
As a Senior Programme and Project Management Officer, you will provide support to the Transformation Office Team and Senior Programme Assurance Leads on all aspects of programme and project delivery. In doing so, you will ensure that programmes and projects are delivered on time and within budget, and you will need flexibility to work across multiple programmes and business units. You will also help to upskill team members as appropriate.
Working closely with the programme / project manager, you will ensure consistent, robust, and effective project/programme governance, control and reporting to centrally defined standards are delivered.
Supporting the programme/ project manager in creating, tracking, and updating delivery plans, your role will be to identify and monitor project dependencies whilst contributing to the identification and logging of risks and issues, ensuring these are managed through to mitigation and resolution.
A key accountability of your role will be the facilitation of workshops and project governance meetings (such as risk workshops), ensuring actions are recorded and managed. Alongside this, you will work with stakeholders to improve the projects/programmes control processes and associated documentation standards.
Reporting to the Senior Programme Assurance Lead, you will work to build strong relationships with a range of stakeholders including project/programme managers and senior management across different business units up to and including Director level. You will work closely with project/programme managers and support them through the delivery of their plans, using Planview to record and monitor progression and contribute by identifying risks and plans to mitigate these.
About You
To truly excel in this role, you’ll possess, and be able to evidence, the skills and experience listed below:
You must be able to develop and establish good stakeholder relationships (up to and including Director level) and maintain effective communication with multiple business units. You will also need to support on multiple projects/programmes simultaneously, so it is important you have excellent time management and organisation skills.
Knowledge and experience of P3M processes would be an advantage and/or a willingness to learn best practice in P3M tools and techniques.
Due to the fast-paced nature of the role, you will need to work effectively under pressure while maintaining a high level of attention to detail. You will need to be an independent self-starter with the ability to influence and challenge others. A knowledge of Planview would also be an advantage, but not essential as training would be given on this.
