Job description
We are living through unprecedented times and families in Britain are facing choices between heating and eating. Retail has to step up to meet this challenge and at ASDA we believe our purpose is to be there for those families that are hardest hit and bring brighter living within everyone's reach. We have a lot of work to do to deliver on that promise and we are ramping up our transformation plans with a big growth ambition. We are undertaking a transformation programme unlike any other in both scale and complexity.
To deliver this transformation we've created a dedicated Transformation Function to drive the change we need to make and we need bright and creative people who are passionate about delivering results and having a huge impact.
The role:
As a Senior Manager, you will support the delivery of large transformation programmes worth tens of millions of pounds which will deliver measurable change through others. The focus of this role is on evaluating complex business-wide information to find various solutions that will make a difference across the business. You will need to:
Lead
- Lead a delivery squad and wider stakeholders (hard- and dotted-line reporting) to deliver core workstreams within transformational change programmes.
- Be a force for positive challenge; driving momentum and pace, cutting down silos, and finding ways through.
- Stay aligned to our purpose and the business strategy to drive strategic conversations.
Assess
- Using data, identify opportunities in the programme and establish root causes.
- Identify organisational performance drivers and collaborate with the wider business to put them in place (e.g., effective KPIs).
- Scope, design and plan the required change programmes.
Design
- Problem solve, trial, and stress test changes to ensure they are right for the business, colleague, customer, community, and planet.
- Drive a focus on the end users and BAU, ensuring changes are designed for adoption to deliver measurable results.
- Identify organisational performance drivers and collaborate with the wider business to put them in place (e.g. effective KPIs).
- Deliver measurable results that justify the rollout of changes to the wider business.
Implement
- See the programme through to the bottom line, supporting the change adoption and transition into business as usual (BAU).
About You
You'll be a problem solver:
- You will relish the opportunity to solve for more than one thing at a time; you will be passionate about analysing data to understand root causes.
- You will have extensive experience delivering transformational programmes – both complex and multi-functional.
You'll have resilience and agility:
- You will need the ability to work under pressure, to tight deadlines.
- You will thrive on bringing clarity from ambiguity.
You'll have great stakeholder management:
- You will have strong interpersonal skills, able to engage stakeholders at all levels in the business and align them to the requirements of the change.
- You' will be able to listen, persuade and collaborate across various functions and will be able to clearly and succinctly articulate key messages.
- You'll use your ability to engage and influence to ask difficult questions and gain clear answers.
You'll be delivery focussed:
You will be focussed on more than tracking and reporting on project delivery – you will have experience of being an integral part of the delivery itself whether this is from a business change, strategy or transformation role within a fast paced, retail focussed business or within a retail facing consultancy.
