Principal Purpose
-
Provides excellence in material planning to ensure that the right-material is in the right-place at the right-time to fulfil planned production orders.

Responsible for the planning of materials and maintenance of the SAP master data, and phase in/out procedures to ensure a continuous flow of materials to production.

A strong focus on demand planning, production scheduling and material planning, with a strong interface to Supply Chain Management.
This is a Team Speaker role (non-disciplinary):

Support the PPML Manager with the planning, coordinating and reviewing of daily tasks.

If required, can run daily team standup meeting for managing daily tasks and escalations.

Can provide support and guidance to peers.

Can identify and take ownership to implement process improvements within team.

Can deputise for PPML Manager when required.
Principal Elements
Material demand planning:
-
Responsible for the material phase-in and phase-out process step for Engineering Change Orders (ECO) and new product introduction (NPI), including managing implementation dates in SAP.

Responsible for reporting on material demands and/or excess material stock based on implementation dates.

Responsible for providing transparency on planned and implemented changes in material demand, especially into Supply Chain Management.

Collaborate with the Data Analyst and Production Planner to ensure alignment between forecasts (PowerBI dashboards and information from Sales), production scheduling, material demands in SAP and actual material availability.
SAP master data:

Control the PPML process step for new part numbers created in SAP in accordance with the defined Part Number Process

Responsible for maintaining routings in SAP for new and existing products, in conjunction with Assembly, Test, and Process Engineering departments

Responsible for the material Takt assignments for new and existing product introduction

Responsible for cost roll ups in SAP

Responsible for material planning for SCS (Special Customer Solution) orders, to ensure that SCS material is allocated to the correct works order

Adapt material planning processes if required in alignment with PPML Manager, Supply Chain Management, and in accordance with ZEISS CSOPs and SOPs

Location
ZEISS House, Cambourne. Some UK travel and occasional international travel may be required.
