About The Role
We are looking for an experienced Senior Product Manager who can work independently, take ownership and deliver great digital experiences for our 13 million personal and business members.
This is an incredibly exciting time to be working in Digital at the RAC. With the recent announcement that Silver Lake, the global leader in technology investing, has entered into an agreement to become a co-shareholder of RAC, Silver Lake will support us in our goal of further transforming our digital capabilities.
MyRAC is the RAC’s consumer app; and currently the account management area of the RAC.co.uk.
Over the next 12 – 18 months we will be making a step change in the customer experience and commercial performance of MyRAC . This is a critical part of our digital transformation – and we are looking for a highly capable product leader to make this happen.
What you will do:
- Own the MyRAC product vision and strategy and its execution: evaluating and prioritise multiple possible opportunities in order to achieve ambitious strategic goals and KPIs.
- Develop detailed requirements, working closely with a range of stakeholders, to deliver the product roadmap, including commercial and group stakeholders and delivery teams.
- Work with a cross-functional team (product designers, engineers, data analysts) to deliver high impact new features and enhancements:
- Post launch evaluation of all activity against our objectives, and optimisation based on usage and insight.
- Line manage2 - 3 Product Managers/ Owners: enabling them to do the best work of their careers.
- Leading the product work across multiple squad to take a lead role across the agile team, ensure products are delivered on time and the product features meet customer and business needs
- Communicate and collaborate with key stakeholders across the RAC to leverage the expertise within the organisation and ensure alignment between business and product strategies.
- Stay abreast of key trends in digital and keep ahead of the industry and what our competitors are doing
About You
Skills / Knowledge / Experience
- Experience of delivering high impact digital products in in a fast paced, commercially focused organisation. Even better – you have worked at the coal face of digital transformation and relished the challenge.
- Experience of owning a complex experience (a whole app; website; or large feature set) the product lifecycle – from ideas and discovery through to prioritisation, definition, delivery and post launch evaluation. Demonstrating sound decision making at each stage
- Track record of defining and delivering great customer and commercial outcomes – and adept at balancing the two.
- Demonstrate product sense: leveraging data, insights, empathy and good judgement to understand our customer needs and how they can best be fulfilled.
- Able to leverage understanding of good practice in UX and technical design in order to work effectively as part of the product team and with the broader RAC product and technology organisation.
- Effective verbal and written communication: able to convey ideas and technical content to different stakeholders, from engineers to senior executives
- Line management of product managers is preferable but not essential
- Experience of working in financial services, or any automotive related sector would be helpful, but not necessary: more important is the desire and ability to understand the needs
