The role will report to the Head of Product, Risk & Compliance and operates in a balanced working model between home and our modern and centrally located UK office on London’s Southbank, with an excellent and a wide variety of services and transport links situated nearby.


Lloyd’s List Intelligence is looking for a Senior Product Manager to join its well established but rapidly expanding team. They will be responsible for leading the development of our flagship products; Advanced Risk and Compliance and Risk and Compliance which are market leading products within the maritime compliance space.


This position presents an exciting opportunity for an experienced product manager who has worked with data or SaSS products but wishes to expand on their product management experience. Someone who has worked in product management within a compliance or maritime domain would be advantageous. But by far the most important is the willingness to learn, at pace, about our customers’ workflows and the solutions we provide to help them to navigate the regulatory, compliance and operational landscape. The role is hybrid and there will an expectation to attend the office 2-3 days per week.

This is an incredibly exciting time to become part of our product team. You will drive the commercial success of our Risk and compliance products working with our data science and engineering teams, development teams, marketing and sales to help ensure the customers voice on these products is delivered and prioritised according to a development roadmap. Continual investment delivers high growth opportunities in specific markets and building an in-depth knowledge of our customers and their workflows is key to success in this role. You will work with the

product management team to chart the strategic product roadmap, collaborating with the Data, Technology, Engineering, Marketing, Customer Success, Programme Management and Sales teams to ensure successful implementation.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Develop a deep understanding of market trends, needs of prospective and current customers, as well as how customers use our current products and those of competitors
  • Translate customer knowledge into user personas, workflows, and detailed product briefs which serve as the blueprint for go-to-market activities and a major input into the product roadmap or discovery schedules
  • Work in collaboration with our technology, data science and development teams, to manage and prioritise the backlog
  • Partner with Product Marketing to deliver compelling value propositions and go-to-market strategies
  • Create simple yet informative and action-led product reviews, with clear recommendations to the Senior Leadership Team, based on clear customer usage research, demonstrable benefit to the customer and evidenced by use cases
  • Develop clear and compelling roadmaps and help support proposed strategies for new products and product extensions
  • Understand in detail customer workflows, their requirements in line with our wider business objectives to articulate compelling and successful analytics solutions and products

What we are looking for:


  • A commercially focused candidate, preferably from a fast-paced digital subscription background, with experience of creating customer profiles, understanding complex workflows and driving decisions on data and/or product improvements
  • Highly organised and attentive to detail
  • Team player who brings positive energy and the ability to influence, inspire and motivate cross-functional teams across the organisation
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Ability to use own initiative to troubleshoot problems and find solutions.
  • A flexible, can-do attitude with the ability to manage several ongoing tasks at any one time
  • Strong analytic and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong business acumen and analytical skills, with the ability to construct and evaluate different business model approaches to maximise ROI
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels of the business and customer organisations
  • First-hand experience of the agile development process defining key features, specifications and requirements of a product based on customer conversations
