This busy role will require a specialist who has strong experience of working in media relations, either in agency or in-house. You will be required to find, write and distribute compelling stories which represent news from across our creative community to support our student recruitment drive. You will have relevant and credible experience in dealing with media including print, broadcast and online for local, national and specialist media. You will be required to create strong media-facing materials such as press releases and invite press to exhibitions and events, campus visits and interview opportunities.
Media plans will be required to support planned marketing campaigns and proactive media opportunities are to be sought and maximised. The Senior Press Officer will need to manage reactive media handling, be able to use strong judgement in crisis situations, and provide senior counsel around potential issues. There will be a strong emphasis on reporting and evaluating activity and regular reporting on media coverage and ROI will be key.
You’ll have strong written skills and will also be asked to help with writing and proof-reading copy for a range of collateral. The successful candidate will be happy working independently and as part of a team. Previous PR agency experience would be advantageous. You will hold a relevant communications degree and ideally a CIPR qualification or equivalent.
