About the role

Macmillan has one of the largest and most successful corporate partnerships teams in the sector and we have an exciting opportunity to join our award-winning Partnership Management team.

We’re looking for a passionate and dedicated leader to develop a high performing team to deliver ambitious and innovative plans for your portfolio of partnerships. You will lead on strategy and proposition development, securing the maximum value for Macmillan in line with Macmillan’s agreed organisational strategy and objectives. You will lead on partnership growth opportunities across your team, influencing and stewarding key decision makers to enable long-term commitments across the portfolio.

You will use your initiative to seek out new opportunities and will passionately represent the Macmillan brand to help create long term strategic partnerships. You will coach and lead your team to develop the best partnerships in the sector.

You will work cross-organisationally drawing on skills and knowledge across teams so it’s essential that you also demonstrate the leadership, team-working, communication and influencing skills that will extract the greatest value from the relationships you build both inside Macmillan and with partners.

Whilst this role is highly dependent on teamwork and collaboration, Macmillan have developed a flexible culture that ensures that this can be done remotely. So, you can choose to be entirely home based (with occasional team building days in our London office) or can be split between home and our London office (one day a week on average in the office).

You’ll be rewarded by joining a fun and high-performing team at one of the UK’s most loved charity brands. You will also be rewarded knowing your work is making a real difference to people living with cancer.

About you

You will be a passionate and driven individual, with a track record of building and developing strategic partnerships. You will have:

  • Experience of negotiating long- term high value partnerships with national brands in diverse industries.
  • Experience of establishing effective relationships at the most senior levels within large, commercial organisations.
  • A real understanding of the importance of building collaborative cross functional teams to deliver shared objectives effectively and efficiently.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • The ability to think creatively to find solutions.
  • An interest and passion for getting the most out of the whole team through coaching and development.
  • Resilience

About us

We help millions of people with cancer across the UK live life as fully as they can through physical, emotional, and financial support. Our values are at the heart of who we are and everything we do, inspiring our thinking and guiding our actions. Together, we do whatever it takes for people living with cancer: with heart, with strength and with ambition.

We are striving to do everything we can to ensure that our workforce is representative of the people we support, and those who support us. We advocate for being an inclusive organisation, where everyone can feel that they belong and where there are no barriers to success.

We want every individual to feel empowered to bring their best to work, and that’s why we offer flexibility in our working hours and benefits so we can support you in your life and your career, and we welcome a conversation about how these options can best support you.

We offer a range of flexible working patterns, such as compressed hours, e.g. 34.5 hours in 4 days instead of 5, flexibility to work earlier or later around our core working hours of 10am-4pm and more options.

We strive to build a more diverse organisation, where everyone feels empowered to be their best self to work.
