Birmingham Youth Offending Service (BYOS) are seeking to recruit an applicant with significant experience of working with children and parents and caregivers. We are seeking applicants who have particular experience of developing and delivering Parenting Intervention programmes; ideally with experience of working with parents or care-givers of children in the Youth Justice System. The applicant will have experience of delivering evidence-based Parenting Programmes i.e. Triple ‘P’, Non Violence Resistance (NVR) Reducing Parental Conflict. Parent & Child Together or be willing to undertake this training.
The successful candidate will work in conjunction with partner agencies, offering parenting support as part of a coordinated range of services.
The applicant must be able to demonstrate a proactive approach to supporting parents who are subject to statutory parenting orders or are working with BYOS by voluntary agreement. They will also demonstrate the ability to work with parents to prevent their children from entering into the Youth Justice System
Applicants will need to have good verbal and written communication skills with the ability to make clear decisions. They should be a reflective practitioner, able to demonstrate an efficient approach to time and task management and show competency in representing the service within a variety of settings.
