Job Description
Working in the Commercial team, you will be acting as a subject matter expert for all client complex due diligence Commercial Banking clients. You will be responsible for appropriately managing AML risk through the quality of account opening for Islands Commercial customers and Intermediaries. You will assess potential and actual risk within client portfolios in order to maintain Group-wide and local policy requirements and minimum standards in accordance with agreed risk appetite. The role will require you to:-
  • Challenge the business to ensure risks are understood, mitigated and controlled
  • Monitor and report on compliance standards to internal and external stakeholders
  • Responsible for explaining and supporting due diligence requirements to both internal & external clients
Key Accountabilities
Customer
  • Role model Best Team Behaviours, leading the team to deliver the right solutions and outcomes to help clients open accounts as quickly & smoothly as possible.
  • Grow the skill set of my team by prioritising coaching activity, supporting them to engage with clients & colleagues to tailor their support accordingly and consistently deliver a great client experience
  • Ensure the team work efficiently and effectively, meeting any service expectations
    Identify and champion new ideas that move us forward, supporting transformation activities to improve the customer journey and their experience
  • Lead & coach the team to demonstrate flexibility and adapt to the varying needs of their role, customers and the business, encouraging a one team ethos and collaborative working
Control Environment
  • Regularly review all available data and ensure trends and emerging issues are identified, taking action to improve customer outcomes and their experience
  • Own risk and operational management, ensuring adherence to all policies, procedures and any role competency activities required, fostering a culture of transparency and ownership where colleagues speak up, challenge and act where they see things are wrong

  • Use appropriate data to support whole of job performance conversations. Role model the principles of Your Best, positive coaching interactions and foster a culture of two way feedback, recognising and celebrating great customer interactions
