We support the industrial, infrastructure, commercial and service sectors with a unique range of contracting and rotating machine services as well as developing and providing support products offered through the Quartzelec group of companies.
The Role…
Requires the Senior Operations Manager to lead from the front with the ability to manage the operational, financial, customer and employee strategy in an established business. You will have the responsibility and autonomy to develop the business, maintaining existing customers ensuring a continuous pipeline of work and draw on your people, commercial and financial acumen to drive the business to success.
Responsibilities…
- Working as part of the senior management team to achieve the overall objectives of the company by driving high standards of work and continuous improvement in process and quality of operations
- Develop the team by communicating, enabling problem solving, instilling confidence and delegating responsibility
- Take lead role in, coaching and developing the workforce ensuring quality, health and safety standards are maintained in accordance with company policies and relevant legislation
- To manage the full P&L, budget, and commercial responsibility of the business, including cash flow, collection, and ownership of orders. Developing and delivering budgets in line with forecasts and expectations
- Management of the business unit processes and procedures to achieve right first time and customer satisfaction
- Understanding the market, identifying, and delivering opportunities to tender
- Understanding contracts to read, interpret and implement appropriate controls
- Proactively manage costs and improve efficiency to increase business performance and profitability

The successful applicant will possess:
- Demonstrable experience of managing a team consisting of multi disciplines
- Demonstrable experience of understanding and managing P&L, budget control, commercial and financial acumen for budgets exceeding £3m
- Demonstrable experience of developing a business and increasing sales and profitability
- Customer focused thinker with outstanding interpersonal skills for communication at all levels
- Excellent people management skills with the ability to lead, motivate and develop workforce
- IOSH H&S for Managers or equivalent
