Zenon is delighted to be supporting a well-established Airline to source a Senior Operations Controller on a permanent basis for their facilities based in Luton.

Shift pattern – 4 on/4 off - 5 on/5 off

The successful candidate will hold accountability for airline operations in the operational control window: day of operation and 8 weeks prior



Main Duties and Responsibilities: -

• Actively manage aircraft operation including any lease in/out or special operations
• Maintain 24 hour control and monitor and respond to disruption or irregularity
• Develop knowledge of the operating programme, approvals, and customer profiles & provide support to Operations Duty Manager
• Recommend solutions to mitigate the impact on on-time performance, crew efficiency and customer experience
• Provide advice to the Operations Duty Manager in like with regulatory authorities, local government, airport authorities and local airline geographies and their operational requirements
• Develop and maintain strong working relationships with Operations Controllers, the engineering department, and the group OCC, in regards to flight plans, movement control and dispatch
• Working closely with Crewing Duty Managers to respond to, and resolve operational issues
• Ensure financial considerations and cost implications are analysed
• Coordinate the operational response to disruption and irregularities in the flying programme ensuring a high level of communication an information flow is maintained
• Conduct flight watch to ensure accurate data
• Be active during major disruption and incidents
• Prepare high quality reports and data to enablement management action
• Participate in safety and compliance audit activity
  

Minimum Skills and Experience:-

• Demonstrated experience within aviation operations, technical and regulatory matters is essential
• Clear and strong communication skills
• Responsive and adaptable to fast changing situations
• Able to build constructive relationships to work alongside colleagues and stakeholders
• Strong understanding of differences between local airlines
• Cost conscious with a focus on long term perspective
• Open to new ways of working
• Resilient and able to work under pressure
