Job description
We are excited to be able to offer a new, permanent Band 4 Occupational Therapist Assistant role within the BCUHB wide Level 3 Paediatric Weight Management Team. This relatively new service is looking for a highly motivated individual with a passion for helping children and families to join the MDT. They will work alongside the OT to help break down barriers (whatever they may be!) to help children engage and set small, sustainable goals to improve their health whilst they attend the 12 month Help Me To Be Healthy programme
Obesity in children is multifactorial so a flexible approach will be needed to tailor support for each child and address their specific needs, which may be a mixture of emotional, mental or/and physical. The role is likely to involve delivery of group sessions, mainly virtual, as well as some 1:1 work and close liaison with the OT and wider MDT. The successful applicant will have a natural quality improvement approach and help the wider team support ongoing changes which will ultimately enable beneficial outcomes for the children on the programme.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
