Senior Network Engineer – National Salary up to £80,000. London Salary up to £90,000.
We are looking for someone with a passion for technology who keeps themselves up to date with the latest technical developments in the areas of Network and Security.

A bit about the job:
As a Senior Network Engineer, you will be accountable for maximising the value network technologies including end to end enterprise connectivity and automation (across various hosting and cloud environments). You will also be:
  • Providing technical leadership in large and small project engagements.
  • Identifying technical options and their advantages and disadvantages and presenting to less technical audience.
  • Spearheading improvements to Aviva technology stack and Network Service.
  • Transition and handover of new and updated technology to the operational teams.
  • Maintain knowledge of the latest developments in technology and ensure that the Network roadmap is developed accordingly.
  • Lead engagement with business partners, project managers and technology vendors to drive and evolve Aviva network services.

Aviva operates a “smart working” policy meaning that we spend approximately half of our time working in an office, and this role can be based in, Bristol or London.

Skills and experience we’re looking for:
  • Deep technical understanding and design experience in several of the following areas are essential: SDWAN (Overlay and Underlay), SASE / SSE, LAN Switching, Wireless Networking, Routing (BGP, OSPF etc).
  • Broad vision of industry standards, recent technologies, and key market trends.
  • Experience in Network Automation including tools and common scripting languages (e.g., Python).
  • Great understanding of packet level traffic analysis using tools such as Wireshark.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders and able to naturally collaborate across teams to deliver successful outcomes.

  • National Salary up to £80,000. London Salary up to £90,000. (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
