Job description

The Oxford Department of International Development is seeking to recruit a Director of Policy Engagement. The Director of Policy Engagement, a new role in the Oxford Poverty and Human Development Initiative (OPHI), will form a key part of OPHI’s leadership team, working on the promotion of multidimensional poverty measures in the policy sphere. The postholder will work closely with the Director and leadership team to ensure open internal communication, close collaboration (the leadership team will participate in the policy activities the postholder organizes), and an alignment of vision, expectations, procedures and outcomes.
The successful candidate will hold a Master’s degree in public policy, public administration, or a related discipline. They will have considerable experience working in the public sector, particularly in departments related to planning and social development. They will have demonstrated experience with multidimensional poverty measures and their use in public policy. They will also have demonstrated experience of successfully leading and managing teams and projects.
The post is for one year in the first instance, with possibility for renewal (funding permitting). The post is expected to require some overseas travel.
