At Motiv Productions we create commercial video & animation for a wide range of clients; from Jet2holidays, NHS Digital, Centre Parcs to Local Government and agency partnerships.
We have developed a fantastic reputation, turning business objectives into entertaining, informative and engaging films.
We want to bring a new level of creativity and flair to our motion services in 2023 as we continue to grow and develop this service. We need help, so are seeking to bring on board a highly skilled Head of Motion. Someone who wants to stretch both their design and animation skills, who enjoys new challenges and relishes the opportunity to carve their own future at our studio.
A creative, enthusiastic and super organised Head of Motion will help in the development of the motion team. Joining our production environment provides a unique opportunity for the right person to work across a number of brands and agencies and local government departments.
The successful person will be an awesome communicator that can handle multiple projects from beginning to end, be a motivated individual to manage all aspects of production from concept through final delivery, ensuring that all elements conform to the brand and creative vision.
This is a hands-on position that includes executing creative direction, developing procedures and production workflows, and ensuring visual consistency across multiple project within Motion Graphics 2D & 3D.

Your project management and tenacity in meeting a deadline whilst showing an unwavering attention to detail will be outstanding. You will provide clear ownership and accountability to anything you touch and see it through beyond completion.
What you’ll be doing:
- Produce and deliver motion content including adverts, animated explainers, branded content, Visual Effects.
- Collaborate with a creative team
- Helping us raise the bar in terms of creativity in pre and postproduction
- Working alongside our Video Producers to create editing schedules and manage freelance resource.
- Raise the profile of animation and help integrate video into the wider company offering.
- Perform some management activities such as budgeting, scheduling, planning, and resourcing.
- Manage motion projects and organise the creative resource and production team to deliver.
- Keep track of feedback, revisions and project communications.
- Connect directly with clients, agencies, freelancers where required.
What you’ll need:
- 3+ years of commercial / advertising motion / animation production with proven experience.
- Superb project management and organizational skills with the ability to lead, supervise and execute video projects from concept through delivery.
- Extensive knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud
- Strong After Effects knowledge and 3D ability.
- Great understanding of the motion graphics production process
- A portfolio that demonstrates your ability to turn raw ideas into beautiful and compelling video content
- Experience leading or managing a small team
- You will have ability to work at speed in a fast turnaround environment, without sacrificing quality of content
- You will be comfortable juggling multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent written/verbal/presentational communication skills and collaborative skills
- Demonstrated business acumen and customer-centricity
- Assist with various managerial and administrative duties

- Salary: £TBC DOE
