Job title: Technician – Metrology (Mechanical Calibration) Location: Barrow in Furness - we offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements Salary: Competitive What you’ll be doing: Calibration and repair of a wide range of mechanical test, measurement and diagnostic equipment (TMDE) against set procedures and technical specifications Keeping accurate records of work activities including test results and non-conformances Using modern software systems including support to development of automation procedures Performing on the job training for trainees / apprentices, including development of training content and competency records Attaining signatory status and taking part in UKAS / ISO 17025 accreditation audits and activities Your skills and experiences: Comprehensive understanding of mechanical measurement systems and principles Understanding of quality systems (ISO 9001, ISO 17025) and measurement uncertainties Degree / HNC / HND in STEM related discipline or equivalent experience which should include substantial metrology background Familiarity with calibration recall and calibration automation software Benefits: You’ll receive benefits including a competitive pension scheme, enhanced annual leave allowance and a Company contributed Share Incentive Plan. The Calibration team: The calibration team calibrates and maintains around 50,000 pieces of equipment per year in support of Submarine build programmes.
