This is a job share role, working three days a week (Wednesday-Friday) on an 18 month Fixed Term Contract.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
Work closely with KPMG’s head of financial services, to devise and deliver a media strategy which closely aligns to commercial priorities.- Alongside their senior manager job share and the full-time assistant media manager, the successful candidate will deliver end-to-end media support for KPMG’s UK financial services practice which spans banking, insurance, asset management and private equity.
- KPMG has a busy media relations team that deals with multiple proactive and reactive media opportunities daily.
- This role works with a wide range of stakeholders from senior partners to marketing and the wider corporate affairs team. The role holder will be expected to engage with these individuals to ensure KPMG’s viewpoints, thought leadership, insights and analysis are promptly and widely disseminated via a broad mix of communications channels.
- Ability to plan long-term proactive campaigns to build key spokespeople’s profiles in the media on key commercial issues
- Understanding of the wider business environment and the impact actions can have on client relationships
- Evidence of an ability to spot issues-led media opportunities ahead of time
- Ability to produce rapid reactive statements to capitalise on breaking news
- Comfortable advising senior stakeholders with often competing demands
- Lead on firm wide reputational campaigns, working closely with the head of communications and head of media relations
- Deputising for senior colleagues to advise on corporate issues
- Delegating work to colleagues and overseeing it to ensure deadlines are met
The Person
Required skills and qualifications
- Knowledge of the financial services sector

Extensive experience of working with senior leaders in large, complex organisations
People management and coaching colleagues to succeed
Strong network of media contacts - Providing advice to senior stakeholders including strategic counsel covering long-term profile raising
- Reporting, monitoring, and analysing coverage to plan for future activity
