We are seeking a Senior Manufacturing Research Engineer to join our dynamic team at The University of Sheffield's Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (AMRC). You will be based at our AMRC Cymru facility in Broughton, Flintshire.

We are dedicated to supporting existing manufacturers and serving a wide range of industry sectors, including aerospace, automotive, food & drink, medical, and renewable energy.
Your main focus will be spearheading the adoption of automated and digital manufacturing methods across multiple industry sectors. This pivotal role entails developing innovative industrial automation and digital manufacturing solutions while mentoring junior project engineers involved in technology development projects.
You will
- Collaborate with Technology & Sector Research Leads to steer the technical direction of the team and ensure successful project delivery
- Contribute to project scoping, setup, and delivery, providing technical expertise on automated manufacturing topics
- Work closely with the Automation, Design for X, and Digital Manufacturing Intelligence teams to meet the needs of key industry sectors in Wales
- Serve as a key member of the team responsible for advancing the AMRC Cymru's mission to drive manufacturing innovation and support existing manufacturers
