Wealth and Personal Banking is our global business combining Retail Banking Wealth Management and Global Private Banking, to become one of the world’s largest global wealth managers with $1.4 trillion in assets. We are currently seeking an ambitious individual to join our Retail Banking & Strategy team, working together with colleagues to define, manage and achieve divisional business targets.

Reporting to the Global Head of Segment Marketing and GH of Marketing within Retail Banking and Strategy (RB&S), the incumbent will be responsible for helping to drive the Bank’s story through compelling written content – devised for multiple channels and formats – that engages identified stakeholders and has a measurable impact on the Bank’s reputation and/or employee engagement.

The incumbent will play an active role at all stages of communications initiatives, from idea conception through to delivery, and partner with other stakeholders to align and develop narratives.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead and develop content which engages identified stakeholders and upholds the Bank’s brand and position
  • Adopt best-in-class story-telling techniques to influence and engage audiences
  • Work with the digital communications team to develop and deliver a robust narrative under the Bank’s strategic communications pillars
  • Work closely with other business units to ensure seamless delivery of effective and aligned content that promotes their strategic priorities
  • Offer insight and objective communications advice to senior management and related stakeholders
  • Be the main editorial gatekeeper for social media (incl LinkedIn) and other external comms
  • Prepare executive speeches, letters and other external correspondence
  • Advise other departments on language and PR issues for a variety of important external materials
  • Work with other departments to ensure key Bank messages are disseminated in a consistent and coherent manner
  • Consider and reconcile a diverse range of views to deliver optimal communications outcomes for the Bank
  • Work to tight deadlines
Requirements

Seasoned English writer with track record of delivering top-class executive speeches and other communications materials is essential

  • Experience of developing compelling and innovative written content across a range of formats is essential
  • Ability to understand business issues and simplify the complex, turning the Bank’s news and insights into compelling communications that deliver results
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, including to work confidently and effectively with senior executives is essential
  • Possesses a strategic, analytical, creative and innovative mindset - essential
  • Strong intercultural and political sensitivity, with the ability to make mature and confident decisions that support the Bank’s values and strategic priorities
  • Experience in banking industry preferred
  • Experience with LinkedIn strategies (Corporate/ Senior Stakeholders) is essential
  • Developing a content/comms strategy across channels is essential
  • Ability to work in a matrix organization in a collaborative way is essential
