The Infrastructure team is hiring a Senior Linux Systems Engineer.

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Linux Engineer to join our global team. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, implementing, and supporting Linux servers and storage across all global regions. The primary focus of this role will be day-to-day operations, as well as supporting development and application-support teams. The candidate must have extensive experience with server and storage hardware, the Linux operating system, and automation with Python on SaltStack.

In this role you’ll be responsible for:

  • Plan and implement Linux server and storage solutions across all global regions.
  • Provide day-to-day support for Linux servers and storage systems.
  • Collaborate with development and application-support teams to provide necessary resources and support.
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts with Python on SaltStack to streamline server and storage administration tasks.
  • Continuously monitor, optimize and improve system performance, capacity and availability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure a high level of service delivery and performance.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation related to Linux server and storage environments.
  • Assist in the development and execution of disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
  • Keep up-to-date with the latest industry trends and advancements in Linux technologies.
  • Periodically participate in an on-call rotation, providing out-of-hours support as needed.

The ideal candidate has:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in Linux server and storage administration.
  • Strong knowledge of Linux operating systems and hardware.
  • Knowledge of networking, virtualization, and storage technologies.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment.
  • Excellent planning, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
  • Willingness to travel periodically and meet with other team members/collaborators.

You’ll really stand out with:

  • Proven experience with automation tools, specifically SaltStack and Python scripting.
  • Work experience within the financial industry.
  • Experience with Cloud technologies.
