Senior Library Planner

Job title: Senior Planner – Libraries
Location: Portsmouth Naval Base
Salary: £38,000 + depending on skills and experience
What you’ll be doing:
- Leading the creation, maintenance and reviews of the production libraries by the interpreting customer requirements into production ready tasks
- Identify the materials, sub-contracts and services required in the scope of work and liaise with the supply chain function to ensure Libraries contain an accurate demand
Liaising with other departments to ensure that all Task lists , materials ,Sub Con services and documents are to a standard ready to be incorporated into production schedules
- Maintaining a close relationship with the production trade heads and subcontractors to ensure that we continuously improve and benchmark our planning and estimating norms
Carrying out ship visits both in the UK and abroad to evaluate customer requirements in more detail
Calculating the hours effort for each trade required using production process standards, parametric estimating methods, and own knowledge
Enhancing production Libraries by creating parts information in accordance with part creation policy, taking previous feedback and performance history into account
Maintaining cost estimating and standard job libraries by creating and enhancing standard task lists with parts information in accordance with part creation policy, taking previous feedback and performance history into account
Your skills and experiences:
- Strong project planning and scheduling skills
- Keen eye for detail
- Experience and understanding of Maritime is advantageous
- Skilled in understanding the needs and demands of a diverse group of stakeholders

The Planning team:
You will be joining a diverse, open, and dynamic team of Production Planners and Assistant Production Planners. This is an interesting role for someone who enjoys getting into the detail, maintenance of work packages and systems. This role would suit someone who possesses the ability to work both on their own and as part of a wider team. There is scope for progression both within the role and the wider business.
