Job description
You will support the Senior Library Supervisors in the daily management of operations & staff associated with the effective running of all libraries. The postholder will perform a front-line role delivering high quality customer service, supporting the delivery of activities and events and assisting customers with accessing online information and other resources. Promotion of all services to a wide range of customers is also a key part of the role.
You will need to be
- Customer focussed with excellent communication skills
- Able to demonstrate an ability to supervise staff
- Interested in libraries and in serving Croydon’s diverse communities
- A good team worker across all 13 of Croydon’s libraries
- Enthusiastic in your approach to engagement with customers of all ages

Job title: Senior Library Assistant (2 posts)
Working Pattern: Part time, permanent position, 18 hours per week. This will include working alternate Saturdays
Role 1 Mondays, Tuesdays and alternate Saturdays Selsdon & Purley
Role 2 Mondays, Thursdays/Fridays (alternating) and alternate Saturdays Relief Team
Salary: Grade 4 (£26,046 - £26,913)
Location: Role 1 will be based in the South Hub but with the requirment to travel to any of Croydon’s Libraries. Role 2 is part of the Relief Team providing cover for annual leave or sickness in any of Croydon's Libraries
