Job description
Due to the ambitious expansion plans of Lotus Group. We are looking for a passionate, engaging, delivery-focused commercial lawyer to drive innovation and play a key role in delivering and executing Lotus Tech Creative Centre’s growth strategy and wider commercial objectives. Fundamental to the role will be the ability to solve practical problems, unlock opportunities and to build and maintain strong relationships with a operational stakeholders. Reporting to the Group Head of Legal Services, this role will be based at LTCC Offices in Coventry. There is an expectation to be on-site, but we operate a hybrid working model 60/40 office to home working. Some travel to London will be required periodically and the EU on occasion.
Main responsibilities:
- Ensure that our global organisation meets the necessary legislative obligations and drives the continuous improvement of privacy compliance throughout the business.
- Lead the ongoing development of privacy policies, practices & training
- Provide expert advice, support, guidance, drafting & negotiation on all privacy matters
- Cooperate & negotiate with external bodies in multiple jurisdictions, such as suppliers, advisors & regulators (ICO)
- Continuously & proactively assess external trends to provide the very best practice
- Support the commercial, Finance and Procurement teams with all Data protection / DPA / Privacy matters
- Develop collaborative relationships with all go to market & foundation functions
- Prepare & provision reports from issue logs to chief packs
- Support non-technical users with identification of data protection threats &
- risks
- Protect interests & mitigating risks & taking corrective action where required
- Support the development & upskill of internal legal professionals
- Develop & deploy a legal privacy strategy across the group
- Ensure that the organisation processes the personal data of data subjects in compliance with the applicable data protection rules
What you will need to succeed:
- Knowledge of IP Law, Contract and Commercial Law, Employment Law and Property Law in the UK
- Excellent communication skills used to train, educate & share knowledge
- Proven data, analytical & reporting skills
- Policy writing skills
- Commercial & financial acumen
- Excellent relationship building skills across the whole organisation
- A recognised Law degree
- At least 10 years PQE
- Strong sense of commercial acumen
- A strong communicator with excellent presentation skills
- Ability to be proactive and plan work in advance
- Able to work pro-actively and problem solve
- Organised and efficient in managing work tasks – self starter
- Attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills – written and verbal – across a variety of stakeholders
- Resilient, with the ability to coordinate several tasks and work priorities, in a fast-paced environment
- Desire to learn and improve
