The School of Education includes a range of undergraduate and postgraduate Initial Teacher Training (ITT) courses in primary and secondary education. In addition, it has a range of full-time Education courses, and a substantial part-time education portfolio for those already supporting learning in educational settings.
The growing School of Education at the University of Bedfordshire is offering an excellent opportunity for two enthusiastic and passionate new colleagues, with an active interest in teaching, research and enterprise, to join its established primary team. We are seeking to appoint two members of academic staff to teach on, and lead practice in, our primary education programmes. This includes: PGCE Primary Education with QTS (3-7); PGCE Primary Education with QTS (5-11); BA Primary Education with QTS (3-7); BA Primary Education with QTS (5-11). The post holder will play a key role in supporting and delivering a range of education units across these courses which lead to Qualified Teacher Status.
You will have knowledge and understanding of national and international perspectives in primary education as well as an understanding of contemporary research and development in this field. You will have a doctorate (or equivalent professional and/or leadership experience), and substantial teaching and professional expertise. This will include mentoring student teachers, and a proven track record in sharing good practice and leading teacher development activities. You might also have a publication record commensurate with your grade and role. The post will be offered at grade 8, and with a focus on leading professional and evidence informed practice in the primary phase.
