About the vacancy: UWE is making strategic appointments to strengthen and expand its already high-performing subject groups. As such, the Department of Accounting, Economics and Finance is seeking to appoint a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Accounting and Finance.
The department promotes research and practice led teaching. In addition to our core Financial Reporting, Management Accounting and Finance provisions; we are expanding our offering into exciting areas such as Financial Technology, Forensic Accounting and Non-life Insurance. Sustainability and ethics cuts across the heart of everything we do. Our staff in the Accounting and Finance field conduct research in areas such as asset pricing and investment, management education, CSR and pension fund management among many specialisms. Our research is firmly embedded within our teaching delivery.
About you: These appointments are specifically designed to reinforce the Accounting and Finance group’s ability to deliver an outstanding student experience. In particular, we seek applicants who have experience of teaching in an HE context, can contribute to the delivery of the Accounting and Finance programmes and have the ability to develop a research profile.
The successful candidate will have:
- A postgraduate degree in a subject relevant or equivalent professional/industry experience
- The ability to inspire and engage students
- The potential to deliver high-quality research and/or scholarly/practice activity
- An ability to communicate effectively with students and colleagues
- An interest and ability to work independently and as part of a team
This post is based at our lively Frenchay campus where we have invested in the latest facilities and resources to give both our staff and students access to everything they need to succeed.
