BBC World Service is an international multimedia broadcaster, part of BBC News, delivering a wide range of language and regional services and working increasingly with other parts of BBC News to serve global audiences.

We are looking for video journalists to join the Africa Digital Production Hub in the UK to support the department’s transition to a digital first service.
Key responsibilities and accountabilities
- Working closely with other journalists in the hub, the successful candidate will create content for a variety of broadcast and digital media platforms, in multiple formats including audio and video.
- You will use your knowledge of the digital media market to produce interesting news content for our website and social media platforms.
- You will work across all BBC Africa platforms to ensure the highest quality content is created for our audiences and conforms to BBC values and editorial standards.
Knowledge, skills, training and experience
- A broad knowledge of issues and trends affecting African audiences , as well as the changing needs of these audiences
- Demonstrable knowledge in a journalistic background is essential.
- Experience of digital newsgathering, original journalism, using various cameras and filing video from the field is important.
- You will have a track record of filming and editing high quality video content, with knowledge of working with Final Cut Pro and other tools and applications as required.
- Bilingual language expertise is an advantage: a full command and up-to-date knowledge of a key World Service African language as first (or equivalent) language as well as complete comprehension of written and spoken English and the ability to communicate effectively.
