Senior IT Support Engineer

Client site, Farringdon London
Working for Sharp IT based at our client site, the Senior IT Support Engineer will be providing users with immediate access to 1st / 2nd line support personnel.
This individual will be a skilled and qualified IT support professional who has been working in the industry for 3+ years. They will, therefore, be able to hit the ground running and provide an instant, high first-time fix rate and focus to each user call. The individual should be a self-starter and be able to manage time and workload efficiently.
Our client requires an experienced IT Support Engineer to not only support their growth agenda, but to support the wider consultant team to deliver on their Cloud strategy, attain Cyber Essentials Plus and upgrade Business Information Systems.
The Support Engineer will be helping 110 users working both remotely and across 4 offices in the UK. Occasional travel between offices is likely to be required.
Tasks & Responsibilities
The Onsite Support Engineer will be responsible for:
- Responding to technical support calls from onsite and remote end users of computer hardware, software and network applications
- Escalating 2nd and 3rd line support queries to the Remote Helpdesk, and supporting query resolution
- Providing Iceni office locations with ‘drop-in IT centres’ for face-to-face support.
- Resolution of IT support issues to include but not limited to:
- Printer Troubleshooting
- Mobile Phone Support
- Patching of PC’s and phones
- Fixed desk phone support
- Setting up user account and managing profiles on the network, including managing ‘Active Directory’ for new and leaving users, password resets, permission changes
- Checking and administering backups and backup procedures
- Stock and asset management, including maintaining inventories of all hardware, software, mobile phones, and consumables.
- Installing and configuring PC’s and peripherals on request as well as programmed roll outs
- Producing and updating documentation both IT Support related and User specific guides and procedures.
- Provide user training for the team on general IT tasks and more specific application support and guidance.
- Providing onsite AV support for client meetings
- Providing onsite support during Iceni events
- Support with company website
- Assisting consultants with numerous projects to further company IT strategy (Cloud Strategy, Cyber Security Accreditation, new business information systems, office moves)
Knowledge & Experience
- Knowledge of computer hardware, including memory upgrades, replacement of disks, Video/sound and network cards.
- Proven experience with desktop and server operating systems,
- Extensive application support experience including Microsoft Office 365
- Understanding and experience of Azure Active Directory
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, with a focus on rapport-building, listening, and questioning skills.
- Strong documentation skills.
- Some exposure to Azure will be beneficial.
- Ability to prioritise incidents and requests.
- Excellent administrative skills are key for the job (punctual and meticulous)
