Salary: £38,697 - £46,185 per annum

Thurrock Internal Audit Services is looking for an enthusiastic Senior Internal Auditor to support the Chief Internal Auditor in providing assurance around the Council’s internal control, risk management and corporate governance arrangements. The role is varied and the successful candidates will work across all of the Council’s directorates and services.
Working as part of a small, high profile team, the successful candidates will play an essential role in providing senior management and elected members with assurance that the Council’s services are working effectively, efficiently and economically whilst protecting the public finances, vulnerable adults and children etc.
An excellent communicator and team player, the ideal candidates will have a challenging and enquiring personality, be able to work on their own and provide supervision and support to more junior staff members. Senior Internal Auditors must be able to work to a high standard within agreed timeframes.
Training will be provided to help develop the skills and knowledge of the successful candidate and there may be opportunities to work towards a formal qualification for the right candidate.
A Basic Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check is required for this role.
Key Experience and skills:
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written

- Enthusiastic and positive attitude
- Must have a minimum of 3 years internal auditing experience
- Ability to travel within the Borough
