Job description

We are currently looking for an organised and motivated Infrastructure Manager to support our growth. They would lead the installation, configuration, support and maintenance services for the infrastructure and management of the network components.


PLEASE NOTE: Applicants must be able to reliably commute to Harrogate, North Yorkshire.


Job Type: Full-time.


Working hours: Monday to Friday, 9am – 6pm.

Role Responsibilities - IT Manager:


  • Responsible for managing overall IT day to day operations to improve infrastructure costs, performance and end user satisfaction
  • Ensure system performance and SLA's are met
  • Implement IT continuous improvement programs
  • Lead IT asset management to ensure assets full lifetime cycle value is achieved
  • Manage strategic relationships with key IT product and service providers
  • Provision in close cooperation with third party service providers an IT infrastructure that is suitable for the group to access and use their business applications
  • Assess the relative impact of IT industry trends to current and future enterprise infrastructure needs and projects
  • Interface with business unit managers to define infrastructure support initiatives and solutions for improving service efficiency and effectiveness
  • Analyse and predict trends and develop long range plans designed to maintain cost effectiveness
  • Manage a dynamic team of individuals, constantly searching for ways to elevate the capabilities of technology systems to meet business needs

Role Requirements - IT Manager:


  • At least 5 years of IT experience including system architecture design and deployment, systems lifecycle management and infrastructure planning and operations
  • Understanding of ITIL practices
  • Experience with networking technologies - WAN, LAN, VPNs, Switching, Routing etc
  • Extensive knowledge of storage and computer technologies
  • Knowledge of Virtualisation platforms including Hyper-V
  • Ability to manage and maintain firewalls
  • Knowledge of the following: Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, Windows Server, Static and Dynamic Routing, Load Balancing, Sophos, Email/SMTP and MFA/2FA/SSO systems
  • Understanding of multiple IT areas including 1st, 2nd and 3rd Line support
  • Implementing and reporting on IT policies as well as assisting in ensuring systems and procedures are in line with all company policies
  • Assist in IT budget to ensure cost effectiveness of technology services and solutions
  • Hands-on technical capabilities to not only describe what good looks like but can also actively demonstrate this with implementations
  • Be the escalations point for all technical issues which are outside of 3rd party responsibilities
