Senior Infrastructure Engineer
Salary circa £55,000 - £60,000 depending on skills and experience plus excellent benefits.
Location: Based in our Coventry Head Office or one of our UK Study centres (Manchester, London, Birmingham, Leeds) with agile working.
The Opportunity: The Senior Infrastructure Engineer will play a key part of realising the University’s IT Vision and strategy. You will help deliver our plans to improve the stability, security and scalability of our systems. In addition, you will be responsible for supporting our infrastructure including cloud services, on-premises servers & virtualisation platforms, network infrastructure, VOIP technology, Office 365 and more. This role reports to the Head of IT Operations.
The Person: You will have a successful track record as an Infrastructure Engineer, with excellent working knowledge of cloud infrastructure services as well as more traditional solutions. We will need you to bring your automation skills alongside your tech problem-solving skills which will hold you in good stead to perform in this position.
As a Senior Infrastructure Engineer you will bring technical expertise in a range of areas, such as operating systems like MS Windows and Linux, networking, Storage, and cloud , which may be Azure or AWS, but you should have knowledge of Dev/Ops practices particularly around the automation of code and as well as CI/DC pipelines. Above all, we are looking for someone to help deliver against a number of key tech requirements across the University but also someone to help us evolve our IT department.
