JOB TITLE: SENIOR HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGER
REPORTS TO: Finance and Operations Director
Direct Reports: Volunteer Co-ordinator, HR Advisor, Receptionist
£50,000 per annum
Full time 35 hrs per week

Join us in our aim to tackle homelessness and break the cycle of poverty. We are seeking a brilliant Senior HR Manager to join our senior team, lead our people strategy and partner with leaders to build an inclusive, high-impact culture.
In this role, you'll develop and execute our people and volunteering plans, oversee core HR functions, including payroll, policies, and employee relations, coach managers and advise the board on HR matters, manage a small HR team and track and report on HR metrics.
You’ll be passionate about improving lives. You'll have experience working in a charity or SME, deep HR expertise (CIPD qualified), influencing skills to work with senior stakeholders, change management experience with excellent coaching and communication abilities, and a commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion.

PERSON SPECIFICATION
KNOWLEDGE - Candidates should be able to demonstrate:
- A strong understanding and knowledge of employment law, best practice and experience in employee relations. Candidates should be a qualified member of the CIPD
- Range of contacts and networks to support development of the HR and volunteering functions.
EXPERIENCE - Candidates should be able to give evidence of the following experience:
- Confident advising, influencing and constructively challenging senior stakeholders on People-related matters.
- Experience of developing and implementing a people plan.
- Experience of working across a range of HR disciplines ideally in a small or medium-sized organisation.
- Experience of dealing with a range of employee relations matters including grievances and disciplinary matters.
- Strong communicator with excellent verbal and written skills you will be comfortable with sensitive, confidential issues and able to manage conflicts.
- Demonstrable line management skills including coaching experience.
- Strong organisation and prioritisation skills. You will always be looking for the best and most efficient process to drive team and organisational changes.
- Passionate about improving the lives of young people and families with a strong commitment to the Centre’s values.
DESIRABLE
- Experience of working in a charity or organisation working with vulnerable people
- HR experience in an organisation working with volunteers
- HR experience of working in supported accommodation.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS:
Holidays: 24 days, 26 after one year’s service, 28 after two years’ service plus bank holidays. Pro-rated for part-time roles.
Notice Period: three months
Pension: the Centre provides a stakeholder pension scheme and will match employee contributions up to a maximum of 6%.
Probation Period: 6 months
