An exciting opportunity has arisen for motivated person to train to become a Medical Engineering Technician and join a small friendly team based at Royal Lancashire Infirmary.
The department is responsible for service and maintenance of wide range medical devices used within all areas of clinical care including ventilation, endoscopic and theatre medical equipment
The program will be for 3/4 years (dependant on successful candidates previous experience) and will provide a NVQ level 3 in medical device servicing upon successful completion of the programunder annex 21 of the NHS handbook
You will be paid trainee salary:Pay will be Annex U/21:
- Year 1- 60% of the top of a Band 5
- Year 2 - 65% of the top of a Band 5
- Year 3 - 70% of the top of a Band 5
- Year 4 - 75% of the top of a Band 5
The post will provide the successful applicant with a fully tailored exposure to a vast range of medical devices under the constant tutorship of one of the departments senior engineers.
On successful completion of the training, you will be a fully qualified medical engineer working as part of a successful team whilst having the ability to work autonomously.
We operate from three main hospitals - Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community health care premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre.
FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services.
WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.
All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies, day case and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.
