Overview
Aker Systems is looking for a Senior HR Generalist to join our fast-paced, high-touch and fully remote HR team (travel into the London area 3-4 times a year). If you are an experienced HR Generalist looking for a fully remote role and the chance to support and scale a business with a remote-first mindset, this is the place for you. The ideal individual will thrive on independent work but be a team player, have demonstrated ability to build relationships remotely, is highly motivated with a customer delivery mindset, attention to detail and loves to stay busy. This role will report directly into the Chief People Officer and will blend business partnering, employee relations, interesting people projects and day-to-day HR operations.
Responsibilities
- Employee Relations – partner with managers and employees to work through employee relations issues including performance, grievances, OH and misconduct
- Wellbeing – own and run the annual wellbeing events schedule with monthly themes tied into broader company and country happenings, including putting together a monthly newsletter, calendar of events, sourcing content, speakers and events tied to those themes and creating a repository of previous wellbeing topics for easy employee access
- Benefits – own the benefits onboarding and renewal process and partner with the CPO on plan design and execution
- Business Partnering – partner with the VPs, Directors and Managers within the company to build strong relationships and provide proactive coaching, trends and support to leaders from a people perspective
- Operations – collaborate with the rest of the HR team on the day-to-day HR operations (taking ownership of some areas and supporting in others) including, but not limited to:
- Offers and Contracts, Onboarding and Offboarding of employees and contractors
- Change paperwork
- Monthly payroll
- Monthly reporting and trend analysis
- HRIS maintenance as source of truth
- Benefits administration
- Training Requests
- Policy administration and updates
- HR email monitoring and responses
- Security Clearance process
- Support the CPO in executing the People strategy including implementing new programmes and running annual cycles
- Drive process improvements within the people processes including automation, leveraging technology and driving accountability throughout the business
- Provide comprehensive HR services and support to our employees
- Develop training for employees and managers around our people, technology, processes and best practices
- Lead by example in remote-first excellence, championing best practice in how to develop and maintain a strong culture and team in a remote environment
- There is the opportunity to learn about other areas of HR, grow into additional responsibility and take on special projects as workload and interest allows – the sky's the limit!
Requirements
- CIPD Level 5 of above qualification strongly preferred
- At least five years of HR experience, with at least three years of generalist and/or business partnering experience required
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in HR or a related field a plus
- Strong, in-depth understanding of UK employment law
- Experience working in a high growth, scale-up environment, ideally within the tech industry
- Experience in and desire to work in a remote-first environment

- Strong Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) skills as well as previous experience with HRIS and ATS
- Loves remote work – we're a remote company! - with a proven ability to build strong relationships remotely
