About us: the Department of Medicine is the largest Department in the School of Clinical Medicine at the University of Cambridge. Research is our major focus; from the fundamental aspects of biology, through to work on disease mechanisms as well as clinical translations.
The opportunity: to lead and deliver proactive and responsive HR services to academic, research, and professional colleagues including external visitors.
About you: we are looking for someone with a strong background in HR to work on various HR-related items. Someone with excellent attention to detail and confident in making informed decisions. Who can apply discretion when managing highly confidential information and lead a team of four HR administrative professionals.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Advising on HR policy, procedure, and best practice on employment relations issues such as staff welfare, disciplinary/grievance, terms and conditions of employment.
- Coordinating and managing recruitment campaigns; including writing role descriptions and adverts to panel co-ordination and pre-employment checks.
- Coordinating probation and appraisal procedures
- General administration relating to payroll, leave entitlements, sickness, holidays etc. More about you
- Educated to degree level/Level 6 vocational qualification or equivalent level of practical experience.
