Your new team
This position sits in our Chivas Brothers business. At Chivas Brothers, our 1,600-strong team across 27 sites is committed to upholding the heritage of Scotch and ensuring its sustainable future, as well as opening it up to new audiences across the globe.
Your unique contribution
You will have the following main areas of responsibilities:
  • To act as an Ambassador for Chivas Brothers, promoting advocacy and loyalty in its brands and contributing to brand promotions and sales. Upselling experiences and demonstrating the customer retail journey to generate conversion to optimum sales.
  • Conduct all tours and tastings offered at the Brand Home and maintain a high level of product knowledge, retail skills and whisky experience.
  • To be a keyholder and responsible for opening and closing the Brand Home depending on scheduled shifts.
  • To carry out essential end of day tasks including cashing up, write off’s and transfers and assist in all administrative tasks related to the operation of the Brand Home including weekly banking of cash, maintenance of online booking system and diary for trade visits, effectively use EPOS system to control stock, responding to customer queries by mail and telephone etc.
  • To assist with implementation and focus on promotions and team sales goals. Work with Retail Leader to ensure shop is merchandised to reflect current promotions and to encourage sales of most profitable items. Assist Experience Leader with maintaining appropriate standards and promotions in the bar.
  • Champion outstanding customer service, leading by example and seeking opportunities to exceed customer expectations.
  • To work hours/shifts as required to accommodate functions and events in the Brand Home including unsociable hours and regular weekends.
  • To support Brand Home Manager/ Retail Leader & Experience Leader in training and leading the team and contribute to the review of team performance on a regular basis and identify training & development needs.
  • Be aware of, fully conversant and operate within Fire regulations, Health & Safety Policies and Standard Operating Procedures and always ensure the Health and Safety of visitors.
Who you’ll be working with
As a Senior Host at The Glenlivet you will effectively assist in the day-to-day supervision and operation of the Brand Home actively working with Brand Home management and team. Where required, in the absence of BH Management, you will be asked to act as duty manager and be responsible for all procedures and staff.
All experiences are an essential part of the role as well as delivering optimum service whilst in the shop.
  • Key relationships Internal - Entire Brand Home staff, Chivas Brothers Marketing Team, Heritage team & Production Team.
  • Key relationship External - Community & Brand Home customers - in particular customers interested in new experiences
  • The majority of working time will be customer facing, leading the seasonal team and with project management tasks being undertaken when applicable.

  • Ability to work within in team to promote the interests of the Chivas brand and deliver an exceptional guest experience.
  • Exceptional communication skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Good working knowledge of Company brands and strategic markets.
  • Awareness of competitors and industry environment to keep up to date with industry knowledge.
  • Know and understand Company Health & Safety policies (full training will be delivered).
  • Knowledge of cash handling procedures and have a strong understanding of EPOS and stock management systems.
  • Background understanding of retail/experience management to meet operational KPI’s, revenue and profit targets.
  • Full driving licence (preferred due to remote location).
  • PC literate with skills in Word, Excel & Powerpoint.
