Role Overview
The FP&A Analyst will prepare analysis and insight on the three Business Units within Precision; provide business partnering support to the Business Units and sites; and lead on developing and implementing process improvements. The role is a key role in the IMI Precision Engineering Finance team.
Key Responsibilities
1. Support the delivery of the Division’s monthly actuals reporting and preparation of robust annual budget and quarterly forecasts.
- Analysis of key areas of the profit and loss and balance sheet, working with the Business Units to understand and challenge unusual movements
- Ownership of sections within the Divisional management reporting packs
- Business partnering with sites to ensure complete and timely reporting and provide training on Divisional processes and systems
- Preparation, review, and distribution of key financial reports
- Adhoc analysis and reporting as required by Divisional FD or IMI Group
- Deliver continued improvement in month end and forecast processes
- Driving further adoption and evolution of Divisional BI tools including:
- Develop and implement reporting automation improvements
- Develop insightful financial reporting and forecasting tools
- Deliver training on BI tools
3. Lead projects and analysis in line with business requirements (e.g. Product Cost Roll)
Critical Competencies for Success
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with some post qualification experience
- Intermediate to advanced user of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret and present complex data clearly
- Professional curiosity
- Delivery and continuous improvement mindset
- Positive can-do attitude
- Proactive problem solver, able to work independently and as part of a small team
- Basic project management experience
