Senior Delivery Lead

Senior Delivery Lead London, England

Red Badger
Full Time London, England 86581 - 96326 GBP ANNUAL Today
Job description

We bring together the best in strategic services, user experience and technical delivery using Lean and Agile processes.

Founded in 2010 by Stuart, Cain and David, we help large organisations improve their speed to market whilst focusing on delivering value to their users and customers. We work with our clients to understand their problems and validate ideas in order to deliver improved process efficiencies, strategic enhancements and new digital products and services (or make significant improvements to existing ones).

The best bit about Red Badger is, of course, the team. We've been around for 10+ years now and we are 120 strong. We are really proud of our people; we support and learn a lot from each other; we work really hard but have fun doing it. We are a diverse group made up of 22 different nationalities, speaking 17 different languages.

Our 3 founders have considerable tech and consultancy experience, and still own the company. We've been consistently profitable and have grown responsibly from the beginning. We are embarking on the next phase of growth and development.

The Role

Love empowering and enabling agile teams? Love delivering great digital products?

We're looking for an inspiring Senior Delivery Lead to join the ranks of our fast growing & passionate team. We have a wide diversity of clients with some very innovative and challenging projects; we need a tenacious Senior Delivery Lead who can coach clients, resolve complex problems and enable highly skilled, cross-functional teams.

All of our projects are Lean/Agile with integrated teams of creative and technical specialists. You'll be working alongside big name clients in a range of sectors including retail, financial services and media and publishing. You'll also be supported by a Director who will oversee a portfolio of projects and Principal Consultants on our larger engagements, but in all cases you will be empowered to represent and lead an enthusiastic, creative and hardworking delivery team who do great work and are keen to socialise and share knowledge with their peers.

Key Responsibilities

Discipline expertise

  • Accountable for project planning and alignment, data based forecasting, reporting, and identifying and resolving project risks, impediments or blockers
  • Responsible for end-to-end delivery quality, managing the flow of work within one or two delivery teams, the impact of dependencies, and progress towards key milestones with your client counterparts
  • Enable continuous improvement and high quality outcomes through the application of Lean/Agile methodologies, as well as analysing and improving the team system by acting on metrics
  • Support programme delivery leadership on complex digital transformation projects within our larger accounts

Collaborative leader

  • Facilitate sessions between a variety of stakeholders (Badger and clients) including standups, retrospectives, etc. as well as aligning across teams by leading dependency mapping workshops, Scrum-of-Scrums, etc.
  • Collaborate with Product and Tech Leads as appropriate to support backlog development and implementation of the technical strategy
  • Be the first point of escalation to resolve conflict with team members and immediate client teams and stakeholders
  • Coach and mentor others on team dynamics, Lean/Agile ways of working, project delivery reporting and forecasting, and data driven prioritisation

Client influencer

  • Communicate with confidence to a broad range of stakeholders and client teams, aligning them to the delivery strategy and ensuring shared understanding of reporting and desired outcomes
  • Influence client counterparts to adopt Lean/Agile practices and improve ways of working through diplomacy and pragmatism
  • Become a trusted advisor to our clients by collaborating with them to deliver business and user value
  • Contribute to Red Badger's account strategy and support the drafting of new contracts

Build Red Badger's delivery capability

  • Caring for peoples' careers and wellbeing, with the potential for line management responsibilities
  • Contribute to Red Badger's Delivery discipline community by sharing your knowledge, leading and participating in community activities, and providing peer coaching and mentoring to fellow Delivery Leads

Contribute to Red Badger's place in the industry

  • Contribute to the growth of the Red Badger brand by championing Red Badger's ways of working: cross-functional teams, continuously delivering value, building quality
  • Be an ambassador for Red Badger, and an advocate for 'doing the right thing, doing the thing right' by supporting and enabling others to do so

Your experience

It'd be great if you have

  • Delivered a range of digital products live to customers using Lean/Agile methodologies, including with Kanban
  • Led and supported multidisciplinary teams that have included designers, testers, developers and product managers
  • A proven track record of delivering multiple releases in complex environments across the complete digital product lifecycle
  • Experience picking up an existing project and maintaining process and delivery quality
  • Experience adapting delivery frameworks for new projects without being dogmatic
  • Managed and worked within budgets and time-pressured environments
  • Used delivery data to forecast key deliverables and communicate a project's status clearly with senior clients and stakeholders
  • Proactively spotted risks to delivery and helped teams mitigate them
  • Exceptional organisational and communication skills, with the ability to tailor your message to suit your audience's needs (who may or may not be technical)
  • Exceptional facilitation, diplomacy and negotiation skills, enabling you to have difficult conversations with the client and team with ease, plus experience resolving conflicts when they arise
  • A love for end to end delivery and your team, and the desire to continuously learn more about technology, products and delivery and to motivate others to do so

It'd be amazing if you can also

  • Focus on business value and customer needs, with the insight to articulate what success looks like, why it looks like that and how to measure it
  • Bring a history of championing Lean/Agile ways of working both in and beyond the client's organisation
  • Dive deep with your technical peers, able to keep up with the technical details in support of the overall project outcomes without dictating implementation

What we offer
