Main Purpose of Role
- To register samples received from customers into the relevant laboratory system (LIMS) in an accurate and timely manner in order for the laboratory to carry out the analysis, compliant with customer and UKAS requirements.
- To effectively liaise with customer service on a daily basis in relation to sample queries and deviating samples in order to provide a high level of customer service.
- To create customer references in the relevant laboratory system (LIMS) and ensure all customer equipment data correct and up to date
- Print customer asset labels for registration/mobile app
Key Accountabilities
- Accurately register samples from customers to meet customer requirements to maintain and effective and efficient service delivery
Ensure accurate entry and receipt of incoming samples onto Labware ensuring they adhered to, and the correct analysis is assigned, printing labels as required for samples with unique Labware label system to be dispatched to the customer.
Distribute sample information to the appropriate departments as and when required e.g. informing the German team of samples received for processing.
Respond to customer requests and process all samples in accordance with these requests ensuring support is provided to the customer where needed. To check that all paperwork associated with the samples is
Monitor and inform supervisor when equipment is not performing satisfactorily (including computers, barcode readers, scanners, photocopier etc).
Support effective teamwork and communication between unpacking, registration and laboratory teams to ensure an effective and efficient service, in keeping with business objectives, is provided to the customer
Ensure full compliance with the company Code of Integrity and Professional Conduct, and at all times adopt behaviour in accordance with SGS UK’s Equality and Diversity Policy.
How to be a successful candidate
- Experience in working within a high-volume submission / fast paced environment and working to a tight deadline.
- Previous Data Entry experience
- GCSE in Science, Mathematics and English grades A to C or equivelent.
- Experience of working within Petroleum Industry.
- Experience of working in a laboratory environment
- A Levels or equivalent.
- Valid driving license for the UK
