Senior Cost Negotiator
Fletchers Solicitors Ltd have a fantastic opportunity for an experience Senior Cost Negotiator to join the growing Cost team!
Location: Southport/ Manchester/Hybrid
We are one of the countrys leading consumer law firms and have recently been acquired by an affiliate of Sun European Partners LLP, whose focus is on growing our already successful business considerably in the next few years.
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Law Cost Negotiator at a leading law firm based in Southport. You will have a minimum of 6 years experience of negotiating and litigating high value & complex medical negligence and serious injury matters. You will be working within a busy team and must have the ability to manage your own case load and adhere to strict SLAs. This is a great opportunity to join a market-leading and expanding firm, at the forefront of clinical negligence litigation. Predominantly dealing with medical negligence cost cases with experience handling all types of bills of cost.

Role Profile:
Key Accountabilities:
- Managing own caseload using case management software
- Instruct Counsel to attend Detailed Assessment/Oral review or alternatively conduct own hearings
- Hit agreed recovery targets
- Undertaking accurate valuation
- Constant communication with fee earners
- Providing head of team updates on forecasts, recoveries, issue files
- Hit agreed daily chargeable hours target
- Keep MI fully up to date and accurate
- Deal with aged debt where applicable
- Reviewpoints of dispute
- Assist in bundle preparation
- Ensure SLA/Pipeline metrics adhered to
- Follow agreed processes
- Providing legal teams with costs advice
- Attending team meetings
- Providing feedback on recoveries/files/fee earning practices

Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience in dealing with high value Litigation and Negotiation cases
- Experience of Proclaim
- Experience of Cost Master
- Organisational, planning and communication skills
- Excellent customer service skills

- Working effectively within a team.
- Attention to detail and the ability to meet tight deadlines
