Job description
This global broker clearly puts the interests of its employees and clients at the forefront of everything that it does – and accordingly, has been a recipient of the prestigious ‘One Of The World’s Most Ethical Companies’ award for over a decade!
It is known in the North West insurance community for offering a fantastic working environment, and is proud of its reputation for offering a myriad of opportunities for progression. Previous incumbents of this role have pursued a variety of internal opportunities, such as moving into technical, managerial or Account Executive roles.
Indeed, it is as a result of such a promotion that the need has arisen to appoint an additional Account Handler to the Corporate Team. Here, you will be responsible for managing a varied portfolio of clients ranging in size and complexity from £10,000 to £100,000 fee or commission income. Your portfolio can be tweaked to reflect any areas of expertise or interest, but you could be dealing with such sectors as Manufacturing, Engineering, Wholesalers and Property Owners – some of whom could have global operations.
You will be tasked with developing a detailed knowledge of your clients’ businesses and the industries in which they operate. You’ll scrutinise their insurance arrangements, ensuring that their exposures to risk are adequately covered and, where gaps in cover exist, suggest innovative solutions to mitigate these. You will negotiate with insurers to obtain the most comprehensive levels of cover at competitive premiums. In addition, you’ll prepare renewals, deal with any mid-term amendments, and put together a range of reports and documentation in a timely and compliant fashion. You will also get the opportunity to join Corporate Account Executives and visit clients at their premises, in order to further strengthen relationships and understanding of their businesses.
Whilst it is not essential that you are currently dealing with corporate and global clients generating six-figure fees, it is essential that you have some exposure to cases generating £5K income and above. You must also have a good working knowledge of all common commercial covers such as Property, Liability, Commercial Combined, Director’s & Officers, and Professional Indemnity. Whilst not essential, experience of using the Acturis platform would be advantageous.
You must be a confident communicator with strong trading skills, and you’ll be comfortable building rapport with stakeholders (colleagues, clients and insurers) from all walks of life. You must also be well-organised, detail-orientated, and have superb task management skills.
Our client is based in superb offices equipped with state-of-the-art facilities such as an on-site gym and ‘breakout zones’. It has extensive free on-site car parking spaces, and is close to main arterial roads and tram stops. This broker is an advocate of flexible-working, and you will be able to work from home a couple of days per week, if desired.
This role is anticipated to pay around £45,000, although this is negotiable for outstanding candidates. You will also receive a comprehensive, flexible benefits package that can be tweaked to your circumstances
