THE OPPORTUNITY
Zenobe is looking to hire an experienced Senior Commercial Manager to help deliver some of the largest battery energy storage (BESS) assets in the UK (50-400MW in size). The role of the Senior Commercial Manager will be to lead commercially on the construction phase of our projects while supporting the wider project team in delivering on time, on budget and to the highest quality. The candidate should be comfortable supporting multiple live construction projects on a multi-contracting basis, and flexible in supporting the wider business needs when required (e.g pre-FID procurement support).
A TASTE OF THE DAY TO DAY
- Reporting functionally into the Head of Procurement, while working alongside Project Managers
- Responsible for leading on commercial and contract management of Zenobē’s live BESS construction projects
- Lead, manager and resolve commercial tasks – including commercial strategy, drafting of formal correspondence, variations, claims, commercial risk management (opportunities/threats), project accounts & payments
- Ensuring all stakeholders adhere to contractual obligations, internal standards and external regulations
- Develop and maintain good business relationships with new and existing contractors and both internal/external stakeholders
- Provide and present periodic commercial status updates to senior leadership team
- Line management responsibilities (Quantity Surveyor to report into Senior Commercial Manager)
- Support central procurement initiatives as required and feeding in lessons learned from the construction phase into upcoming development projects
- Support the pre-FID procurement process in contract negotiations, as required
- Attend construction site(s) as required

- 6-8 Years’ + experience in Commercial/Contracts management with relevant qualifications (e.g BSc QS, RICS) preferred
- The preferred candidate will hold relevant experience in the construction of battery energy storage system assets and/or other renewables/generation assets
- Project experience on a multi-contracting basis
- Experience with FIDIC and other bespoke/complex forms of contract
- Experienced in providing commercial leadership on complex projects
- Experienced in claim management strategy/execution and settlement agreements
- A genuine passion for renewable energy
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross functional teams (legal, engineering, construction, finance, etc)
