Job description

Our M&A team is currently going through a period of significant growth in the market whilst also servicing an existing large base of clients. To support the successful delivery of our growth ambition, the team is looking to appoint a Senior Consultant to our Northern Europe M&A team working as part of the Social Performance and Human Rights Advisory team.

ERM has enduring values, which are fundamental to our business conduct. We are passionate about our people, their safety, well-being and development. ERMers take accountability, are client-focused, and collaborate with colleagues across geographies. If you share our values, believe in sustainability and are motivated by opportunities to shape, build and run a sustainability service team that makes a real impact to our client’s businesses, ERM is the right place for you.

The ideal candidates will have a solid amount of relevant experience in sustainable financing and project delivery for clients in the financial and corporate sectors, ideally in an advisory consulting role. Specific experience with ESG and Human Rights is also beneficial. The successful candidates will be required to have relevant BSc and or MSc degree(s) as a minimum.

The successful applicants will be expected to:

  • Undertake the assessment of the “S” elements of ESG as part of Due Diligence projects. This could include screening and reviewing public ESG data, review of Virtual Data Room information, conducting management interviews and completing site visits
  • Support Human Rights Due Diligences
  • Write commercially-focused reports of ESG Due Diligence findings
  • Support the development and diversification of ERM’s capabilities by actively collaborating with colleagues across the globe and driving innovation.
  • The candidate will be expected to support the team in winning and delivering social performance and human rights work
  • Be organised, responsive and ambitious.

Knowledge of UK Modern Slavery Act, UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights and EU Mandatory Due Diligence Directive is a plus. Previous experience with these guidance / requirements is desirable but not required.
